NCU Bulletin: Why choose NCU?
"To the blessed hill you brought us where we've had our hopes and dreams fulfilled". Joyous words of our beloved alma mater which has left a lasting, and profound imprint on us. However, we oftentimes forget what brought us to the 'beacon on the hill'. We need to ask ourselves: 'How did I arrive at such a noble institution? 'What compelled me to come to the place where learning never ends?'

According to Northern Caribbean University (NCU) Director of Admissions and Enrolment Management, Donna Thomas, approximately 2400 students are enrolled each year. She also highlighted that most of these students matriculate to departments such as nursing, business, communication studies, and computer information science.

unity

When asked why she chose to attend NCU, United Student Movement (USM) Vice-President of Social Affairs, Nazila Mais, said: "When considering how warm and saturated with love NCU is, there really was no other option."

Mais (a senior majoring in communication studies) went on to say, "If you have thought about coming to NCU, you have thought about the right thing. You have thought about unity in your academic, social and spiritual life." Accounting major, Leonard Brown, calls NCU "a different experience where persons can develop a certain sense of discipline and responsibility."

Communication Studies Acting Department Chair, Elaine Oxamendi Vicet, contends that the university offers complete learning that "makes its students good corporate citizens". She also pointed to the high level of hands-on training, integration of technology into the curriculum, and the highly accomplished faculty (qualified not just from an academic standpoint but also from a real-world perspective).

highest enrolment

This, she holds, accounts for the high matriculation numbers to the department and university in general. Oxamendi Vicet envisions her "elite department ... having the highest enrolment on campus, one that produces the kind of graduate that will have few, if any, competition from other universities."

It is evident that Northern Caribbean University is the premier educational destination. Indeed, it's a place of excellence that will continue to produce eloquent, and informed graduates.
