The court appearance of the five persons detained in connection with the suspected multi-million dollar fraud at the Accountant General’s Department (AGD) has been postponed until November 4.

When the case came up in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court this afternoon, the court was told that certain documents were outstanding.

The Crown alleges that between February and October this year, while, employed as an accounting technician at the Department, Julio Parkinson found a loophole in the pension system as it relates to dead persons.

He then allegedly created fictitious life certificates and prepared pension payments to the tune of $20 million and sent portions of that sum to the various bank accounts of his co-conspirators.

His co-conspirators have been named as his sister Meisha Parkinson, Rameish Watson, Anthony Munroe and Kemar Lewis.

The five were taken into custody on Tuesday after the RPD, with assistance from MOCA, carried out a series of operations at the downtown Kingston offices of the AGD and other premises in the Corporate Area.
