OCID ramps up human trafficking monitoring
The police have ramped up their monitoring of human trafficking by targeting several massage parlours which moonlight as sex shops across the island.

Head of the Organised Crime Investigation Division (OCID), Senior Superintendent of Police Clifford Chambers says covert operations are being carried out across the island.

The efforts come on the heels of a matter before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court in which a man was charged for living off the earnings of prostitution and misleading and disorderly conduct.

In that matter, it is alleged that the man would profit from girls in his establishment by forcing them to perform sexual acts on customers.

The girls who refused to comply were reportedly fined by him.

The matter is scheduled to be mentioned on November 5.
