Dr Carol Clarke to be appointed interim president of Mico

KINGSTON, Jamaica:
English lecturer, Dr Carol Clarke, is to be appointed interim president of The Mico University College.


She will take over from Professor Claude Packer on September 1, who will go on retirement at that date.

Clarke, who lecturers in English Studies, says she will act as president until a permanent replacement is identified.

She is currently vice-president of academic affairs at the teacher-training institution.

Last November Mico announced the impending retirement of Professor Packer, who served the teaching profession for almost 50 years.

Packer became principal of the Mico Teachers' College in 1995 and was subsequently appointed as the first president of The Mico University College in 2009.
