WESTERN BUREAU:

It was a night when cameras clicked and speed lights flashed simultaneously, as local and overseas-based photographers and videographers tripped over themselves to get the best shots.

The occasion was the elegantly staged Ocean Style Magazine/Kerry manwomanhome's annual fashion showcase weekend, at the luxurious Half Moon Resort at Rose Hall, St James on Saturday, October 3.

The event attracted hundreds of people from various sections of the western end of the island and many corporate professionals from as far as the Corporate Area. But more noticeable were the big players in the fashion and entertainment industries.

Too many to keep up with, some outstanding faces included 33-year-old Kingston-based attorney Matthew Hogarth; Zip FM's DJ Bambino; Ian Lyn; Kingsley Cooper and company executives and businesswomen Bridgette Young, Latoya Wilson, Lisa Gomes, Joan Lee, Natasha Lee, Velmore Lawrence; Peter and Karlene Kelland and Eleanor Williams.

The event, slated to commence at 7:30 p.m., did not officially kick off until 9:55. Some felt it was worth the wait, as a team of handpicked young male and female models from across the island dressed in some of the most fashionable garments thrilled the audience.

The fashion weekend extravaganza was the note on which the inaugural Ocean Style/ESPN Golf Invitational climaxed with a US$1 million shoot-out contest that saw several sports and entertainment celebrities from the Caribbean, Europe and the United States of America vying for prizes. Among them were Jamaica's Courtney Walsh and Lennox Lewis; actor Anthony Anderson; Jeffrey Dujon; Frank Leboef and Andy Cole, among others.

Ocean Style says it is the number one fashion and lifestyle magazine in the Caribbean that focuses heavily on food, beauty, fashion, luxury travel and entertainment.
