Pulse's Caribbean Model Search (CMS) kicks off on September 6 at the Hilton Kingston hotel. The competition features four categories: fashion model, petite, full figure and male models. Today, The Gleaner features three of the male model contestants.

An avid Eric Benet fan, this student says that his involvement in the CMS competition has been very fulfilling. "I have enjoyed the CMS experience thus far and I am happy that I decided to sign up. I'm learning the essentials of becoming a great model and being involved in this search has definitely been very rewarding. I'm really looking forward to the live show," says Mikhel. With notable aspirations to open his own business someday, this teen is preparing to pursue higher studies in business management.

Encouraged, he says, by his friends at Garmex HEART Trust Academy to try his hand at fashion, Akeem came to Pulse determined to take top honours in the CMS Male Face of Jamaica competition. "I love modelling and would one day like to be the face of Gucci," says Akeem. When he isn't dreaming of being on the runway, Akeem spends his time playing basketball and listening to music by Jah Cure.
Delano Roberts
Age: 17

Hailing from the lush garden parish of St Ann, the teen made the journey to Kingston in hopes of becoming Jamaica's next top male model.
"I entered this competition in order to achieve my dream of becoming a male model and this competition will expose a lot of opportunities for me to launch my career," says Delano. Citing the CMS experience as the best thing that had ever happened to him, the St Ann native relates how exciting the rehearsals for the live show have been.
"Rehearsals are intense, but I am enjoying it and perfecting my style for the CMS live event," he says.
Delano spends his leisure time listening to music and hanging out with friends.
