Prime Minister Bruce Golding will be among the first shoppers who will be taking advantage of the special arrange-ments starting on Wednesday to make downtown Kingston a shoppers' delight this holiday season under the theme 'Christmas in the City, Downtown Comes Alive!'
The prime minister, who enjoys browsing for eye-catching neckties and shirts, will find the going easier as he will be able to stroll and browse at his own pace. Mr Golding may just find special items of clothing for some of his more relaxed but busy occasions in the coming year.
If Mr Golding does not see something for himself, his eyes and wallet will be open for members of his family and even some of his friends, such as Mayor of Kingston Desmond McKenzie.
Smart vendors who have unique handmade craft or art should have them prominently on display, as the prime minister has an eye for fine craftsmanship and such goods would be sure to catch his attention and, hopefully, his patronage.
toys and books
The proud grandfather of a two-year-old, toys and books are also on Mr Golding's shopping list. He will be searching for appropriate and fun gifts to bring joy to his grandson on Christmas Day.
The prime minister leaves the holiday menu in Mrs Golding's capable hands and she will be anchoring the shopping for fresh fruits, vegetables, dry goods and speciality items for the family in the downtown market district.
