Super-6 may go past $9m
Orville Clarke, Gleaner Writer

Thanks to a stunning upset by LADY SHARMEELA who paid a whopping $15,878 to win at Caymanas Park last Saturday, the Super-6 boasts a carryover of $5.4 million.

With heavy betting anticipated, it will more than likely offer a payout in excess of $9 million if caught tomorrow.

It will embrace races five to 10 on the Supreme Ventures' programme; the Pick-9 from two to 10.

We look at the Super-6 which gets under way with the Pick-3 Supreme Trophy for maiden two-year-olds over 1300 metres. Of the 13 declared, the one that catches my fancy is MR FABULOUS (Dane Nelson up) who showed promise when finishing third to CLASSY PROSPECT on his recent debut over the round five. Slowly into stride then, the Traditional-Tech All colt stayed on to finish third and now better for the experience is preferred to the well-forward debutante SUPER CENTER from the in-form stables of Richard Azan.

Briefly, ROYAL IMPACT, who recently changed stables, gets the nod over RUN SMILE RUN and FAREED in the sixth race over 1300 metres, while LORD ADMIRAL (working well) looks a banker in the seventh.

Then, take down-in-class STICKSONTHELOOSE to lead home JACK N'DBOX and DIESEL in the eighth, the talented filly AL FOUZIA to make it four straight in the $3.6 million Pick-3 Super Challenge Trophy over 1400 metres for two-year-olds, and RISING HURRICANE over LOVINGGOOD in the nightpan.
