Poor Air Jamaica food

The Editor, Sir:

I travelled from New York on Air Jamaica, departing from JFK on the 7 a.m. flight to Kingston. I was required, as is the norm, to be at the airport at least two hours before departure and I was shocked to see the service that is now given on the airline.

On the flight that left at 7 a.m., soft drinks with potato/banana chips were being served for breakfast! After serving the 'treat', tea or coffee is served. I took tea, and it tasted as if it had been sitting in the pot from the night before. I could not drink it.

Air Jamaica is a very good airline and the pilots are great but, in my opinion, better service should be given to the passengers, especially the ones travelling on the early flight. Serve the tea with bagels/Danish or something that is considered a breakfast treat, but not soda and chips. There are a lot of people like myself who cannot eat those things so early.

There are elderly people travelling, also kids, and we would like to travel with 'our own airline', but with that type of service, people will be checking out other airlines.

I am, etc.,
