A late goal from Mark Morris yesterday enabled St Andrew Technical High School (STATHS) to record a come-from-behind 2-2 draw against Wolmer's in their ISSA/Pepsi/Digicel Manning Cup schoolboy football Group D match at Bumper Hall, Spanish Town Road.

The Keith Nicholls-coached unit, who last year made it to the semi-finals of the competition, went behind in the 14th and 30th minutes on goals from Claude Allen and Christopher Hall, respectively.

However, buoyed by their throng of home-crowd supporters, STATHS were able to pull back a goal in the 37th minute through Oneil Grant before scoring the all important equaliser in the 84th minute through Morris.

"Generally speaking, it was a poor performance," said Nicholls. "In the first half, we were flat and lacked co-ordination. They surprised me in the second half as that is not how we normally play.

"But coming from two goals down and finishing with a draw, I will have to be satisfied," he added.

Wolmer's coach, Michael Francis, expressed disappointment with the result and like their previous game four days earlier against Camperdown when they gave up a 2-0 advantage to lose 2-3, he blamed it on a lack of concentration.

Spirited match

"It was a very spirited match. Overall, the result is not pleasing as we should have preserved our lead. They came at us, especially in the second half and we lost concentration. But we will take the point," said Francis.

The result moved STATHS to four points from two matches, while Wolmer's are now on a point from two outings.
