Robert Bailey, Gleaner Writer

Former champions Excelsior and Norman Manley High will be seeking their second consecutive victories in today's round of matches in the urban area ISSA/Pepsi/Digicel Manning Cup competition.

Excelsior, who registered a comfortable 3-0 win over Tarrant in their opening game, will play away to Trench Town. Norman Manley will tackle Ardenne at Ardenne.

Leebert Halliman, coach of Excelsior, said he his expecting a tough match.

"We heard that Trench Town have a good team because they scored two goals in their first game and so we're going to approach the game positively and make sure that we do what we need to do to win the game," said Halliman.

"I think that all the games are going to be very tough, but we are prepared for the challenge," Halliman said.

Trench Town lost their opening match 2-3 to Cumberland.

Norman Manley edged Haile Selassie 1-0 in their opening match on Monday and their coach, Miguel Coley, is very optimistic.

"We are very confident because we have played well in our pre-season games and it is just for them to bring this over into the Manning Cup," said Coley.

"Ardenne is a very disciplined team, but we have to make sure that we pressure them early and I believe that once we do this, then we should be able to win this match comfortably," Miguel said.
