Baptists bake up a storm

Safiya Burton (right), instructor for the amateur French pastry class, speaks to participants at the closing ceremony last Saturday, at the Boulevard Baptist Church. The classes which were offered over a three-month period, were done to improve the baking skills of the church members as well as persons in the community.

Members of the community as well as congregants of the Boulevard Baptist Church, got a chance to hone their baking skills recently as Pastry Passion's Safiya Burton showed them the ropes with some French pastry lessons. They learnt to bake as well as to decorate a variety of cakes and pastries. After the class, they showed Food the results of their newly learnt skill.
