NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana (CMC):

Jamaican reinsman Shaun Bridgmohan carved out two victories on Friday, to shine on the day's 10-race card at Fair Grounds.

The 29-year-old scored victories aboard Onesockmissing in race one before returning to win with Grand Advice in race seven, to remain in the hunt on 41 wins at the southern United States racing venue.

Going off as the raging-hot favourite in the day's opening race over six furlongs, Bridgmohan raced Onesockmissing off the pace in the early stages allowing Expedocious and Gayle's Fan to dispute the early lead.

Bridgmohan slowly pushed the four-year-old chestnut colt into contention and eventually went to the front a furlong out, but under pressure from Expedocious.

However, Onesockmissing proved the best in the final stages as he reached the post by two lengths in one minute, 13.10 seconds.

Bridgmohan produced a fine ride in the US$42,000 race seven to pick up his second win of the day, in the event going over a mile on turf.

Installed at odds of 3-1, Grand Advice broke nicely and trailed at the back of the pack throughout the most of the early running as Sweet Miss Kitty took the field through solid fractions of 24.80 seconds and 50.43 seconds.

The chestnut filly still trailed heading into the second turn but rallied vigorously, and was third with the contest reaching the stretch.

Bridgmohan then produced a strong ride as the four-year-old ran on strongly to collar the leaders and get up to win by 1-1/2 lengths in 1:40.75.
