Lolo Jones of the United States bounced back from a fall two days earlier to win the 60-metre hurdles in a world-leading time of 7.82 seconds at the BW-Bank indoor meet yesterday.
Jones, the world indoor champion, clipped a hurdle and fell Friday at a meet in Duesseldorf. But she raced to a strong win yesterday, leaving Priscilla Lopes-Schliep of Canada far behind at 7.96.
Ariane Friedrich of Germany and Blanka Vlasic of Croatia, the world champion, both cleared 2.05 metres - the best in the world so far this season - in the high jump, but the German won the competition on fewer tries. Both women failed at 2.07.
Fabio Cerutti led a 1-2 Italian finish in the 60-metre dash, finishing in 6.58 seconds. Emanuele Di Gregorio was second in 6.60, followed by two Americans, Mark Jelks, also in 6.60 and Kendall Stevens in 6.62.
