Spice hits back
Deejay Spice has blasted what she views as the targeting of dancehall music in the Broadcasting Commission's ban on X-rated songs on television, radio and cable.

Spice has also got her share of blows in a torrent of criticism for the hit song Rampin' Shop, a duet with Vybz Kartel.

"I agree that certain songs should not be played on the radio, but if you are going to ban dancehall, then some hip-hop and carnival songs should be banned as well.

"As far as the Rampin' Shop issue, I didn't see it coming (ban). Myself and Kartel just decided to do a song together, we didn't even expect it to get so big so quickly," Spice added.

She said the Broadcasting Commission could have called a meeting with stakeholders in the music industry and insisted that a sanitised version for general consumption be produced.
