The trough is expected to linger across Jamaica and the central Caribbean through to the weekend. Afterwards, Hurricane Matthew is likely to begin influencing weather conditions across the island on Sunday.

On Saturday there will be morning showers across sections of northeastern parishes with isolated afternoon showers and thunderstorms mainly across southern and western parishes.
On Sunday expect mostly cloudy morning with scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms across most parishes. Conditions will also be windy. On Monday expect widespread showers and thunderstorms with gusty winds across the island. Tropical Storm and Hurricane conditions likely due to the presence of Hurricane Matthew
