Old Harbour Bay residents happy after 30-year wait for road repairs end
Residents of Old Harbour Bay are praising the St Catherine Parish Council and the Ministry of Local Government for finally repairing the Kelly Pen and Spring Valley roads.

The roadways connect several communities and residents say the roads have been in disrepair for more than 30 years.

Kelly Pen road was repaired at a cost of $14 million while a total of $27 million was spent to repair the Spring Valley road.

Councillor for the Old Harbour South Division, Peter Davis, says the improvement to the roads will help to increase access to economic activities for communities and the more than 5,000 residents.

Local government minister Noel Arscott says the Government has spent approximately $6 billion on road infrastructure projects.

He said this includes repairs to more than 500 kilometres of roadway, 3,475 kilometres of drains and 1,400 kilometres of bushing.
