The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) has launched a probe into an alleged shootout which left two men dead in Paul Mountain district in Kitson Town, St Catherine on Monday.
The men are 17-year-old Jerome Collins, otherwise called 'Taj', of Paul Mountain, Kitson Town and 18-year-old Chris Taylor of March Pen Road, Spanish Town.
It is reported that a team from the Spanish Town Police went to the community and while there the driver of a motor vehicle was signaled to stop.
It is further reported that he complied and five men exited the vehicle and allegedly opened fire on the police team.
The fire was reportedly returned.
The police say after the shooting subsided the area was searched and three illegal guns and rounds of ammunition were seized.
The police say Collins and Taylor were taken to hospital where they were pronounced dead, however, the other three men escaped.
