CAC Games: No medals for Jamaica in women's hammer throw final
The Jamaican pair of Natalie Grant and Vanessa Levy finished out of the medals in the women's hammer throw final at the 22nd Central and American Caribbean Games in Veracruz, Mexico today.

Grant and Levy were the first two Jamaican track and field athletes in action.

Grant finished fifth after registering a throw of 54.23 metres, while Levy finished eighth and last with a throw of 51.56 metres.

As expected the Cuban pair of Yipsi Moreno and Lisbet Ford finished first and second.

Moreno took gold with a games record throw of 71.35 metres, while Ford won the silver medal with a 69.62 effort.

Meanwhile, Jamaica men’s basketball team will bow into action for the first time today.

The Jamaicans will start their Group A campaign against Puerto Rico at the Benito Juarez Auditorium.

Action is scheduled to begin at 5 o’clock in the afternoon Jamaica time.

And Jamaica men’s hockey team will go in search of back-to-back victories.

The Jamaicans will play Dominican Republic in a performance classification 5-6 place match.
