Members of the Jamaican diaspora in Atlanta in the United States have expressed disappointment at the high phone bill racked up by the junior foreign affairs minister, Arnaldo Brown.
Head of the Jamaica Atlanta Association, Allen Stewart, says this is a serious problem which must be addressed immediately by the Prime Minister.
Stewart says it cannot be that the government is asking Jamaicans to hold strain while ministers are not exercising the same fiscal prudence.
He says he is not convinced by the junior foreign affair minister’s explanation that the high phone bill was a result of roaming charge and data fees.
Stewart says government ministers who have racked up high phone bills must be made to repay the excessive sums.
He was speaking this morning on
Power 106 FM.
