One man is now dead following a stabbing incident in the Santa Cruz market this morning.

The dead man is yet to be identified, but is said to be from Mulgrave district in St Elizabeth.

According to alleged eyewitnesses, the man, who was a vendor in the market, had an argument with another man over a cellular phone.

It is further reported that the vendor turned to walk away when the other man stabbed him in the neck.

The police were called to the scene and transported the vendor to the hospital.
He reportedly succumbed to his injuries while on the way.
