Negative comments about T&T's president's wife ending legally
Lawyers representing Trinidadian President, Anthony Carmona, have issued a letter seeking to bar local talk show host and comedienne, Rachael Price, from speaking negatively about the attire of First Lady Reema Price.

The letter, sent to Price on Monday, stated that if she did not comply, further legal action would be taken.

The Office of the President says it respects and values the constitutional right of every individual to freedom of expression but it believes that this right does not give persons a licence to defame.

The issue of the First Lady's attire became a topic on social websites last month when she wore an outfit which some felt was too revealing at an event hosted by the United Nations in New York.

The Office says unwarranted attacks which seek to bring members of the President’s family and by extension the Office of the President into disrepute will not be tolerated.
