Residents say long-time feud behind deadly Rockfort attack
KINGSTON, Jamaica:
Residents of the Rockfort community of Jarrett Lane, Kingston, where three people were shot dead and five others injured last night, say the attack is linked to an ongoing turf war between rival gangs in the neighbouring communities of Pleasant Heights, Johnson Town and Waricka Hill.

 The victims ‎were injured in a drive-by shooting around 7.30 p.m.

"(It's) a long-time story," one resident said.

"Dem have a constant war and we tell dem say it fi stop and nobody nah stop it," the resident continued.

Another resident expressed fear that there could be reprisals.‎

Those killed have been identified as ‎23-year-old labourer Abayonie Strachan of Jarrett Lane, Locksley Brown otherwise called 'Tata' and Terrence Dixon, alias 'Fidel'.‎

It is reported that the three were among a group of persons standing in the vicinity of a bar, when a barrage of gunshots was fired hitting them and five others.‎

The injured persons were rushed to the Kingston Public Hospital where the three were pronounced dead.‎
