KINGSTON, Jamaica:
Justin Felice, the head of the Financial Investigation Division (FID) is to demit office at the end of September when his contract expires.
Felice, a former British cop, told FID employees last week that he would not take up the option to renew his contract.
Contacted this morning, Felice confirmed that he would be leaving the FID, however he was not immediately able to comment on the reason.
Since Felice assumed the post of chief technical director at the FID on August 1, 2012, the body has seized more than $2 billion in assets.
He went to the FID on transfer from the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) where he was the Assistant Commissioner in charge of the Anti-Corruption Branch.
Felice joined the JCF in September 2007, bringing with him more than 30 years of policing experience in Great Britain, and Northern Ireland.
Before joining the JCF, Felice was the Senior Director of Investigations at the Police Ombudsman’s Office in Northern Ireland a position he had held since 2002.
