Half-Way Tree Primary Principal retakes position after 2013 dismissal
Carol O’Connor Clarke, the dismissed Half-Way Tree Primary School principal reinstated by the Teachers' Appeal Tribunal is to resume duties this morning.

O’Connor Clarke’s attorney, Andre Earle, told The Gleaner/Power 106 News Centre last night, everything is in place for his client to resume duties today.

He says the Education Ministry must now move to ensure that all monies owed to O’Connor Clarke are paid over urgently.

In July 2013, the board of the Half-Way Tree Primary School dismissed O'Connor Clarke for allegedly exhibiting improper conduct, in responding to the chairman, Robert Lawrence, about a complaint from a parent.

In May this year, the Teachers’ Appeal Tribunal overturned the dismissal.

The principal had challenged her dismissal on the grounds that the board chairman, who was the complainant in the matter, was a member of the Personnel Committee to which the complaint was initially made.

The said board complainant was also a member of the board that fired O'connor Clarke.
