West Indies recovered from a shaky start to secure a three-wicket victory over Bangladesh in the first match of the One-Day International at the National Stadium in Grenada a short while ago.
The West Indies, set a victory target of 218, recovered from five for 34 in the 13th over to score 219 for seven to win with 62 balls remaining.
Jason Holder, 22, and Sunil Narine, three, guided the Caribbean side to the target.
Kieron Pollard and Denesh Ramdin, who came together with West Indies struggling, put on a sixth-wicket partnership of 145 runs to rescue the Caribbean side.
Pollard top scored with 89, while Ramdin hit 74.
Earlier, the West Indies restricted Bangladesh to 217 for nine with Anamul Haque striking a century.
Haque scored 109 from 138 balls before West Indies skipper Dwayne Bravo dismissed him.
The 30-year-old Bravo took three more wickets to finish with four for 32 from seven overs.
The victory came less than 24 hours after the West Indies Cricket Board issued a release that head coach Ottis Gibson and the board had mutually agreed to terminate their association with immediate effect.
