Jamaica’s Reggae Girlz have now turned their attention to Bermuda after scoring a 4-1 victory over Puerto Rico in the opening game of the inaugural Caribbean Women’s Cup in Trinidad and Tobago.
The game was played yesterday at the Ato Boldon Stadium.
Shakira Duncan-led Jamaica with two goals, while Donna-Kay Hunt and Nicole Campbell-Green secured the other goals.
The Reggae Girlz will enter the match against Bermuda in second place in the early Group A standings.
The Haitians are leading the standings courtesy of a 5-1 victory over Bermuda.
Jamaica will meet Bermuda tomorrow.
Action in Group B begins today with Antigua and Barbuda facing Martinique and host T&T playing St Kitts and Nevis.
The winner and runner-up from both Group A and Group B will earn places at the 2014 CONCACAF Women’s Championship, hosted in the United States.
The tournament is also be used as a qualifying competition for the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Canada.
