Prisoners did 'extremely well in CXC Math', says civil group
Civil lobby group, Stand Up For Jamaica, is reporting what it says are excellent passes from prisoners who sat Caribbean Examination Council (CXC) exams this year.

Twenty males at The Tower Street Adult Correctional Facility sat mathematics and English language.

Several females at the Fort Augusta Adult Correctional Facility also sat the mathematics exam.

The CXC programme involved the Department of Correctional Services (DCS) and received funding from the European Union.

Executive director of Stand Up For Jamaica, Maria Gullotta says the inmates did extremely well especially in mathematics.

She says the details of the report and plans for the continuation of the programme will be revealed at a press conference.
