The sentencing of former claims manager at Key Insurance Company, Alastair McDonald, has been pushed back to September 18.

The matter could not proceed in court yesterday because a social enquiry report was outstanding.

McDonald was convicted last week of defrauding the company of more than $30 million.

The Crown, represented by attorneys-at-law Richard Small and Caroline Hay, led evidence that between 2004 and 2009, McDonald manipulated the company’s system by creating fictitious motor vehicle and accident claims.

He lodged the cheques to his bank account and encashed them at a cambio in Clarendon.

Following investigations by the police, McDonald was arrested and later charged with falsification of accounts and larceny of a valuable security.
