GLASGOW, Scotland:
Sprint hurdler Hansle Parchment and Jamaica's representative in gymnastics at the Commonwealth Games Toni-Ann Williams have both withdrawn from the competition.

Chef de Mission Major Desmon Brown could not speak on Parchment's situation but confirmed that the 19 year-old US born Williams, who was set to become the island's first female representative in gymnastics at the Commonwealth Games, was pulled for unspecified reasons.

Parchment reportedly suffered an injury recently on the circuit and is not available to compete.

The Gleaner also understands that Williams, who has already represented the island on a number of occasions was pulled due to issues between a member of her family and the team's management.

The 2014 Commonwealth Games gets underway tomorrow from Glasgow's Celtic Park.
