Kartel juror returns to court today for attempting to pervert the course of justice
The juror accused of trying to bribe others on the panel in the Vybz Kartel murder case heads back to court today.
Livingston Cain is before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on five counts of attempting to pervert the course of justice.
He is also charged with one count of conspiring with persons unknown to pervert the course of justice.
Prosecutors are alleging that one day before the verdict in Kartel's trial, Cain met with the jury foreman in the Supreme Court library and told her he realised that she had some influence on others members of the panel.
It is alleged that he offered her $500,000 to return a not-guilty verdict and promised that the payment would be made the following day.
Prosecutors say the foreman recorded the conversation on her cellular phone.
Cain has denied any wrongdoing.
