KINGSTON, Jamaica:
The National Environment and Planning Agency (NEPA) has issued a stop order on Jamaica North South Highway Company Limited.
The company is the registered entity responsible for the China Harbour Engineering Company, which is contracted to construct the highway.
NEPA says the order is being enforced against Jamaica North South Highway for unauthorized clearing of lands outside of the approved area for the construction of the North South highway.
The Jamaica North South Highway Company Limited has been ordered to immediately cease the activity or face prosecution.
