Three Atlanta Jamaicans were killed in an accident yesterday morning on the New Jersey Turnpike, according to New Jersey State Police.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, an 18-year-old family member survived and was taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The police said a tractor-trailer hit the back of a Toyota Camry around 10 a.m. on Thursday near Mount Laurel, N.J.

Reports are the Camry’s driver, 51-year-old Ainsworth Mallett, who operated the Golden Krust Caribbean Bakery & Grill on Rockbridge Road, his wife 49-year-old Jacqueline Mallett, and their 12-year-old son, Drew Mallett, were all pronounced dead at the scene.

A dog in the Toyota was also killed, according to authorities.

The police said a second car was also involved in a minor way, and a second tractor-trailer swerved to avoid the accident.

The drivers of the other vehicles were not injured.

The New Jersey State Police are still investigating.
