Montego Bay businesswoman and full-time student, Odette Soberam-Dyer, spent 10 years at the now-defunct Air Jamaica where she worked as a purser. After resigning from that position in 2007, she spent the next six weeks planning what is still being described as one of the most beautiful weddings in western Jamaica. She married businessman Godfrey Dyer.

Soberam-Dyer has an eye for fashion and this was evident when she opened her designer boutique, Style Me, at the Upper Deck in Montego Bay. Style Me became a staple for women unsure of what to put on when.

She has owned and operated the former 'Glen & O' Total service station at Ironshore. Soberam-Dyer was born in Spanish Town, St Catherine, where she attended St Catherine High.

She has served as chairman of the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission Visual Impact Committee and is also a justice of the peace.

1.She is fascinated by religion. She reads everything she puts her hands on about major religions - Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, etc. She wants to know what others believe in and why, as she believes exploring different religions provides a compass for her personal and traditional beliefs - Christianity. This has also helped her to stay grounded in her faith.

2. Is in her final semester of completing a Bachelor of Arts in public relations at the University of the West Indies, Mona, Western Jamaica Campus.

3. Married to Godfrey Dyer, she is mother of two sons - Jelani, 27, and Jahneel, 25 - and a proud grandmother of nine-month-old Jahneel Amari.

4. A lover of fashionable, classic timeless attire that is functional.

5. Was raised by her paternal grandmother, Eugena Soberam, and aunt Bernadette Soberam for most of her life. However, her maternal grandmother, Gladys Green, and aunt Shirley Mattis have had strong influence in her life.

6.She is the embodiment of five amazing women - the four named above and her mother, Merle Brown. She sees a little of each in her and every major decision she needs to make, she thinks what each would say or encourage her to do.

7. All these women are deceased, except her aunt Marie, whom she considers to be her mom.

8.Odette is an avid reader. She spent her formative years with her head in books and even now, her husband says he envies her because she spends a lot of time reading.

9.She was inspired by her aunt Shirley, who bravely battled breast cancer for 21 years. Odette has never seen a more resilient human being. Growing up, she always admired her. It didn't help that aunt Shirley always wanted to steal her from her paternal grandmother.

10.Odette is a humanitarian at heart. She believes we are all our brother's keeper. She is also passionate about education for youths and strives to inspire others to further their education.
