Etana happy about performing in Jamaica
Reggae star Etana
Reggae star Etana, having spent much time abroad in the last 12 months and brought a bouncing baby girl into the world, her second child, is happy to be performing in Jamaica again.

Even more pleasing for the artiste, is the fact that she is performing on one of the biggest stages possible.

"There's no place in the world that I have been to that can be compared to performing in JA, mi yard. In Jamaica I can make my dream performance for the future a reality now. I'm super excited but not anxious. I'm more steady and ready to execute a performance that will top all that I have done before," said Etana about performing at the 17th staging of the Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival on January 24.

Building momentum

Etana's performance might give the singer some momentum in a new year that will also bring a new album, something her fans have been waiting for since the moment she dropped her last one.

"The title of the album is Better Tomorrow. We're doing a lot of interviews, magazines and radio. We have plans to do an album launch here in Jamaica, some other up, close and personal performances like "One Mic" in New York to introduce the new songs," said Etana.

Etana likes performing at festivals like Jamaica Jazz and Blues and points to the unique platform the event gives artistes to showcase their talent.

"I think it goes without saying, the success of the show over the years speaks for itself. It's always a great combination of artistes. People fly from all over the world to be in Jamaica and enjoy quality music, from quality artistes. Jazz and Blues is well attended by the masses near and far; for many it's money and time well spent. It is broadcast live and covered locally on almost every radio and TV station across Jamaica and the international coverage is always broad. Performing on Jazz and blues? An excellent position for any artiste who's serious about what they do best," said Etana.
