The January 8, 2013 edition of Chicago Tribune labelled Jamaica the 'Greece of the Western Hemisphere'. What are your views on the issue?

What is sad about this is that it's the people who will suffer the most. The poor will have to foot the bill for politicians' mediocre and inept leadership. Our economic situation is not unique, but the most dire. And should we ask these same politicians who got us here to lead us out?

- Adriano Young

I am not worried by that label! I would like Chicago Tribune to show me a country that is not indebted. The capitalist system has fallen, and maybe it is time for Jamaica to develop its own path of development.

- Oneil Hall

Not one political person must take a partisan side to this, because both sides are responsible for the $1.7-trillion debt. Both sides are guilty of borrowing their way out. However, the time has come for us to take some serious action.

- Jason Shaw

I am not surprised! Look at the state of the roads, or road signs - everyone driving to their own agenda. The people in workplaces, offices, airports are badly trained, if at all. I could go on. You need the younger generation to take the helm. No discipline at all!
