Despite the competitive nature of the entertainment industry, 21-year-old Adrian Allen, who goes by the moniker 'Lusion', is focused on using his distinct style and delivery to stand out in a saturated profession.

"Music is something that can never get old, and it doesn't matter how others are in this business, there is still a space for me. So I'm focused on doing my thing and hoping to reach music fans and gain a following," Lusion said.

The Hanover-born young man has been involved in music from the age of 15, but decided to pursue it professionally after he completed his tenure at Herbert Morrison Technical High School. Since his musical pursuits, he has secured airplay from a number of local and international radio stations for his songs Cry for the Hungry and Hold On Mama.

PUTTING IN THE WORK

"I understand that I am relatively new to many, but it won't stay that way for long as myself and my team are putting in the work to ensure that the rest of Jamaica catches to Lusion's music and personality," he added.

With a new year, Lusion outlined that more promotions and performances will be a part of overall plans.

"I have an excellent relationship with my producer and mentor, Richard Kerr, who has helped to guide and hone my skills in songwriting and performance. I believe every young artiste needs proper guidance and I appreciate what I have learnt so far and I intend to continue learning more," the entertainer said.

He admitted that being an entertainer has its perks, but being able to please his audience is what drives him to continue.

"My advice for young artistes like myself is to find your own sound and not imitate those of others and seek guidance, because we have to learn from someone else to be the next big thing.'
