Observer boss is new MAJ head

Khoury

Managing Director of the Jamaica Observer Ltd., Edward Khoury, was yesterday elected as the new chairman of the Media Association of Jamaica (MAJ). His election came at the MAJ's annual general meeting.

Mr. Khoury takes over the chairmanship from Dr. David McBean, of CVM Communications, who did not seek re-election.

Other members elected to the executive committee are Gary Allen (first deputy chairman), Dr. McBean (second deputy chairman), Newton James, Brian Schmidt, Alston Stewart, Winston Ridgard, Karin Cooper, Christine King, Kay Osborne, Lester Spaulding, Ladianne Wade (secretary) and Hyacinth Anderson (treasurer).

The new executive committee will be in place for one year.
