St George's College in final
Defending all-island champions, St George's College, led by a game-high 34 points from Stefano Leslie, booked their spot in this year's final of the ISSA/KFC Southern Conference Basketball competition, following their nail-biting 55-54 win over newcomers Hydel in Monday's semi-final at the National Stadium.

Hydel led 30-26 at half-time and 46-37 at the end of the third quarter. However, St George's fought back in the fourth period and their Manning Cup star, Kemar Cummings, scored six straight points to lead the way. Leslie later scored a three-pointer to tie the game at 53-all with 20 seconds remaining.

Cummings ended the match with 12 points. While Allen 19 points and Mikail Robinson, with 15 points and seven rebounds, were the leading scorers for Hydel.

Curtain raiser

In the curtain raiser, Ardenne High thrashed Jamaica College (JC) 64-26 to secure their place in the Under-16 final. Martin Gentles, 16 points and nine rebounds, and Brandon Goldsmith, 11 points, were the leading scorers for Ardenne. Ajani Alleyne, 11 points and 12 rebounds, was the main scorer for JC.

The next finalist will be decided today when Calabar oppose Ardenne at the same venue.
