In May of this year, seven young misguided, yet promising lives were extinguished. An enquiry was subsequently convened, as a means of discerning factors which coalesced on that fateful night, resulting in that horrific and most unfortunate event.
To date, nothing meaningful has been done. Those who were fortunate enough to escape with their lives were then forced to relive the horrors of that event, the heart-rending scars were simply not enough. So much time has elapsed since the end of this much-touted enquiry but yet nothing is forthcoming. One is simply left to believe that this was, in fact, nothing more than another public relations spectacle aimed at 'saving face' on the part of our 'leaders'.
We already know the answer
They could care less if anything comes of this enquiry. The horrors visited upon these young malleable minds, inclusive of them recounting the atrocities, in reality, translates to a peripheral effort as far as some are concerned. The fact is they were not children belonging to those from the upper echelons of our society, they had no renowned last names and they were not born into 'privilege', they just were ordinary lives; lives that obviously did not mean much.
So where is the outrage vis-á-vis the length of time it is taking for us to disclose findings and suggestions which were arrived at from the 'enquiry'? Will we have to wait until eternity before we are made aware of what will be done? The truth is, we already know the answer: this enquiry like so many before it is just another facade dressed up to create the illusion of or "leaders" caring. Well where was the care before? And where is is it now?
I am, etc.,
