Remove those phalluses
The Editor, Sir:

Civil society by its very name implies that rules must be necessary to guarantee acceptable conduct. As such, for example, regulations are in place for the media to prevent the airplay of 'adult' material as such is deemed not ideal for our children.

In considering the above, publicly displayed nude carvings of men with erect phalluses, I think, are too 'adult' for our children to see. I am hereby requesting on behalf of our dear children that such carvings (many of which are on display at the foot of Fern Gully) be sold/displayed in adult stores or displayed at adult art exhibitions.

Unwholesome music

Our children are bombarded enough by unwholesome music on many of our route taxis and minibuses. Let us not compound this problem of overexposure by allowing the carvings mentioned to remain on public display.

I am, etc.,

CHARLES PETER
