Waterhouse striker Kevin Lamey
Defending champions and first-round winners Tivoli Gardens will look to pick up where they left off two weeks ago when they resume their Digicel Premier League (DPL) campaign with Waterhouse's trip to the Edward Seaga Sports Complex for a 5 p.m. kick-off.
Tivoli Gardens were out of action last week due to the funeral service for slain defender Oraine Simpson, an opportunity that St Georges used to reclaim top spot after their drawn game with Arnett Gardens at Lynch Park. The Portlanders, in the meantime, will have to travel to Humble Lions this week, where they are expected to take full points in that encounter.
Six goals
The west Kingston-based Tivoli have conceded six goals in their last four matches in what continues to be an area of concern for coach Lenworth Hyde Sr. The comforting fact, however, is that they have scored six of their own during this period.
Waterhouse, in the meantime, have only lost once in their last seven games after failing to secure a victory in their opening five. Also of concern to Tivoli Gardens is the fact that Waterhouse have scored seven times in their last four games while conceding just three goals, meaning that Tivoli hot-shot Navion Boyd and his attacking accomplices should find things a little difficult when Geoffery Maxwell's team comes to visit.
Harbour View (22 points) have been looking over their shoulders in recent weeks with their third-place spot under serious threat from the likes of Boys' Town, who they will welcome to the Harbour View Mini Stadium with just two points separating the long-time foes.
The last time the teams met, Harbour View's Christopher Harvey and Lovel Palmer netted second-half goals in response to strikes from Peter Keyes and Xavian Virgo to play their way to an entertaining 2-2 tie at Collie Smith Drive. Harbour View were also inactive last week, due to four of their players being away on national duty with the Reggae Boyz for their friendly inter-national against South Africa.
horrid start
After a horrid start to the campaign, former champions Arnett Gardens have seemingly found their footing. Their revival in the league is brought into sharper focus by the fact that they are a mere three points adrift of many-time champions Portmore United (17 points), meaning that a lot more than pride will be at stake when the two teams clash at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex.
Rivoli (12 points) will start as slight favourites over August Town, who must start winning sooner rather than later if they hope to remain among the nation's elite next season. Village will host Sporting in the other game at the Elliston Wakeland Sports Complex.
