The administration of Pembroke Hall Primary School has been cleared of any wrongdoing in the foul-up which resulted in 80 children not getting results from the last Grade Four Literacy Test.
When The Gleaner broke the story more than a month ago, the education ministry claimed that the school was at fault.
"Because the proper procedure was not followed by the school in the case of the 80 children ... their scripts cannot now be identified," the education ministry had said in response to questions from The Gleaner.
Missing papers
"On the day before the examination, the ministry was informed that the school had 80 more students sitting the examination than had been registered.
That was challenged by persons close to the school who claimed that all registrations were submitted together.
Over the weekend, news came that the initial announcement from the education ministry was incorrect.
The ministry has subsequently disclosed that six employees have been sent home awaiting the result of a month-long investigation into the foul-up.
The administration of the school has so far refused to comment on the matter.
However, the 80 students are to resit the test at a date not yet determined.
The affected children have been promoted to grade five while they await the resit.
