Some people work hard to learn how to draw, while others seem to have been born with the talent. Delroy Milwood is one of those who has been making eye-catching creations since he was a child.

The Job Lane, Spanish Town-resident has been doing much with his talent and even has some of his drawings on display at Kingston's Bank of Jamaica.

"This drawing thing did not start just like this. It was after trying other things then I realised that I have the art in me and now the thing is taking me places with the help of others," said Milwood.

awaiting his reward

He said in the near future he wants to be the most sought-after artist in the Caribbean and that would be the reward for the hard-work he has put in.

"I am planning an exhibition at the Bloomfield Great House in Manchester from December 14 to 28, where 20 of my best pieces will be on show," Milwood told The Sunday Gleaner.

The artist, who is a past student of José Marti High School in St Catherine and the Ebony Park HEART Academy, said the pieces he had done so far had attracted positive reviews.

"While at Ebony Park doing agriculture, there was a project that required drawing. When it came out, it revealed to persons that I could draw," Milwood continued.

His favourite pieces are the 'Old Iron Bridge' in Spanish Town and his painting of Marcus Garvey.
