With the festive season of countless parties just around the corner, one thing you won't have to worry about is what to wear.

The Canadian Women's Club of Jamaica and renowned Jamaican stylist Peggy McLean, showcased some of the hottest pieces straight out of the fashion capital - New York. One of their major fund-raising events for the year, the fashion extravaganza was held at the Girl Guides Association of Jamaica on Waterloo Road on Sunday, November 1.

The Canadian high commissioner to Jamaica, Stephen Hallihan, made his runway debut as he opened the show with a very short address before the elegance, grace and beauty of a very fashionable evening began.

McLean outdid herself this year with the colours of Christmas, perfect cocktail dresses, power suits and everything in between in silk, organza, chiffon and cotton blends. They were real clothing for real people.

Models included Beverly Corke, Ruby Martin, Dr Blossom O'Meally-Nelson, Miss Jamaica World Western Calee Scharschmidt, Miss Jamaica contestant Danisha Scott and Miss Jamaica 2005 Terri-Karelle Griffith. The outfits never looked more beautiful.

So hot were the outfits that they caused an overload and backstage was plunged into darkness. But not even that could stop the show, thanks to Sparkles Production.

Throughout the show the audience expressed their approval and there was no doubt the pieces would last long. They will be available at 20 Hillcrest Avenue until November 10.
