Lyns Trial: Jurors happy - Quick court response to complaints

Court officials have responded quickly to complaints made by jurors in the murder case of Manchester couple, Richard and Julia Lyn.

Last Friday, court had to be adjourned because one juror was sick and the foreman had complained to Senior Puisne Judge Marva McIntosh that the air-conditioning needed cleaning and the seats were uncomfortable.

At the time, the judge had admitted that the conditions under which jurors had to work, in a court which held the longest sessions were untenable.

On Tuesday, air-conditioning vents had been cleaned and the chairs in the jury box had been replaced.

The judge had, on Friday, assured jurors that she would inform the relevant authority of their complaints. When the trial resumed on Monday, the foreman of the jury commented on the quick response to the complaints.
