GUILT TRIP - Exciting possibilities abound!

It is tucked away behind lush vegetation at 20 Barbican Road, St Andrew, and this year, Guilt Trip is as excited about the possibilities of the Gleaner-sponsored Restaurant Week as it has been from the start.

Owner and chef extraordinaire Colin Hylton says there is definitely a buzz in the air although there is a culture of not making reservations.

"Even if customers make reservations, many may not call to confirm or some may cancel at the last minute but we are making plans to accommodate them based on past experience," he said.

This year's plans are bigger and better and diners will have up to seven choices in their main-course selections. There will also be four appetisers to choose from.

Hylton, who is the winner of the Seafood from Norway Culinary Challenge 2009, will be tempting his customers' palates with appetisers inspired by ackee and salt fish as well as some very exciting entrées using salt fish.

"The restaurant also now has a covered area and a spruced-up display case," Hylton told The Gleaner. Restaurant Week's increased business is welcome, but to keep things afloat, Guilt Trip also offers catering services to customers. Customers will benefit from the mid-range prices and he hopes they will return after November 14, when Restaurant Weekend ends.
