Saturday Life recently spent some time at Mother's, where we participated in an ice cream treat that had many stars indulging their sweet tooth.
"Calleen! Calleen! Come we go a' Mother's go eat some ice cream," bellowed Charmaine Munroe, popularly known as Macka Diamond.
Also summoned by the call were singer and songwriter Alaine, diva Barbee, Gaza Kim of Portmore Empire and Benzly Hype, better known for his role on 'Me and Mi Kru'. All met up at the Portmore branch of Mother's to test a bevy of ice cream, as well as mix and mingle with fans and well-wishers.
Let's get into the minds and taste buds of stars.
Barbee: ... of when I was a child, with no worry about how many calories I'm consuming. Also reminds me of the rewards I'd receive for being good in school.
Benzly Hype: [sinking in another scoop] ... the rainbow - without purple!
Alaine: [Chuckles] ... the sun, the moon and the stars!
Gaza Kim: Mmm - when I just started eating it and now I'm done.
Barbee: What is the name of that multicoloured one? I think it's called rainbow, rainbow it is!
Benzly Hype: The girls call me the chocolate man so I'm guessing it's chocolate.
Alaine: What's my favourite? Has to be the one I'm tasting now - rum and raisin.
Gaza Kim: Definitely has to be grapenut [smiling].
Barbee: Keeping variety in my life - rainbow never makes me bored. After the rain, the sun must come out to play.
Benzly Hype: I'm back on the scene with my Mother's chocolate ice cream.
Alaine: Rum and raisin, rum and raisin, for your love I'm craving.
Gaza Kim: Come a' Mother's and buy a patty and dash the grapenut pon it and move like a shatty.
Barbee: Just that I want moooore [looking around asking for more]. The taste is awesome!
Benzly Hype: I think they should add some nuts and use less milk powder.
Alaine: The taste is great. I just want more per serving [breaking out in laughter].
Gaza Kim: The taste is good. Just that there is room for the use of more milk powder.
