The finalists for this season's ISSA/Pepsi/Digicel Walker Cup knockout senior schoolboy football competition will be decided today in the semi-finals at Constant Spring Football Field.

In the first game at 12:45 pm, Bridgeport High, with the season's leading goalscorer, Darren Mattocks, will go up against last year's beaten Manning Cup finalists Jamaica College (JC), while at 2:45 p.m., St George's College, with the season's second highest scorer, McKaully Tulloch, will face Norman Manley.

Bridgeport, who trounced Eltham 4-0 in the quarter-finals last Friday, will look to Mattocks, who has 18 goals, and Adoah Nickle for inspiration, as they take on the boys from Old Hope Road, who are led by Ashani Walker.

It will be JC's fourth straight Walker Cup semi-final appearance, after reaching the final in 2006 and 2007 where they lost to Eltham and Calabar, respectively. Last year they were again defeated by Calabar.

JC have never won the Walker Cup, despite putting claim to 20 Manning Cup league titles.

"It's kind of difficult to play two matches in three days, and potentially three in five, with the second round of the more important Manning Cup coming up next week," said JC coach, Alfred Henry, referring to their rescheduled quarter-final clash against St Andrew Technical, which was played on Monday.

JC triumphed 4-3 on penalties after both teams played to a 1-1 regulation time score.

In the second match, much fireworks is expected when the never-say-die Norman Manley take on St George's, who are yet to lose a match in 11 appearances this season.

The Miguel Coley-coached Norman Manley recorded a 5-4 penalty kicks win over Waterford after a 2-2 regulation time draw, while St George's defeated Excelsior 2-1 in the quarter-finals.

"Norman Manley is a tough team. They run hard, have good players and have a good coach. But we didn't play in the Walker Cup last year and this year. Now that we are in, we want to make a serious impression," said St George's coach, Neville Bell, who will look to Tulloch, who has 15 goals to his credit, and fellow forwards Marvin Morgan and Davian Kelly.

The final is scheduled for Friday at the same venue.
