Clive 'Busy' Campbell, organiser of the annual Bell-Ziadie Memorial celebrity charity football classic, on Wednesday made a donation to the Richmond Park Basic School of the Nazarine, which was earlier this week broken into by thieves.
Reports of the break-in on national television on Tuesday indicate the thieves gained entry to institution from the roof.
Campbell and his team then saw the report and, as part of their yearly contributions to basic schools after the event, decided to pay the school a visit the following day.
"I am very grateful as it is the first time since the incident that someone was making a donation to the school. I am grateful for Mr Campbell's initiative and would like to take this opportunity to ask for additional support," said Grace Flowers, principal of the institution.
"It is 10 times the school was broken into in 2006 and the second time this year. The first was in September," she added.
Campbell, for his part, said his organisation was pleased to make the donation.
"We were very concerned when we saw the story on television and decided to make Richmond Park Basic School one of the beneficiaries of this year's competitions," said Campbell.
We hope others will see the need and come to her assistance," he added.
